Vaulta

Your money, and the money you keep for others, in one honest ledger.

Vaulta records income, expenses and cash on hand for you — and every deposit, withdrawal and exchange for the customers and family members whose money you hold. Each of them can see their own balance on their own phone. It works in any currency, with or without a connection.

01 / The problem

The notebook works right up until the day it does not.

A shop owner holds $3,000 in cash. Some of it is takings. Some belongs to a customer who left it for safekeeping. Some is a relative’s savings. It is all the same pile of notes, and the only record of who owns what is a notebook behind the counter.

That arrangement runs on trust and memory, and it fails in predictable ways: a disputed balance, a missing page, an exchange nobody wrote down, a death in the family and no way to prove what was owed to whom.

Vaulta keeps the trust and removes the memory. Every movement is recorded against a named person, in the currency it happened in, with a statement that person can see themselves.

02 / In operation

What the team actually looks at.

The shape below is true to the real product. The numbers are not — these are illustrative values, never customer data.

03 / The product

Shipped, on the store, in people's hands.

Vaulta is a real Android application, not a concept. These are screens from the product as it ships today.

04 / Capabilities

What it does, in detail.

7 capability areas, each built because the operation breaks without it.

01

Your own books

Income, expenses, recurring costs and cash on hand, recorded in seconds with categories that make sense for a small trading business.

02

Money held for others

A named sub-ledger for every customer, relative or group member whose cash you hold, with running balances that never mix with your own.

03

Deposits, withdrawals, exchange

Record the three movements that actually happen, including cross-currency exchange, with the rate that applied stored against the entry.

04

Multi-currency by default

Hold and report balances in several currencies at once — the reality for anyone trading across a border — without forcing everything into one base currency.

05

Statements they can see

Each person you hold money for can view their own statement on their own phone, which ends the balance argument before it starts.

06

Requests and approvals

A person whose money you hold can request a deposit or withdrawal from their own phone; you approve or decline it, and the record carries both sides of that exchange.

07

Works without signal

Offline-first: records are captured locally and reconcile when a connection returns, because the shop does not stop when the network does.

05 / Surface area

18 modules, one system.

Breadth is only an asset when the parts share a data model. Every module here reads and writes the same records — there is no export step between them.

06 / Architecture

A ledger, not a list.

Vaulta is built on proper double-sided accounting under a deliberately plain interface. Every entry has a counterparty, a currency and a timestamp, and balances are derived rather than stored — so a balance can always be explained by the movements that produced it.

  1. L1 Mobile client Native Android app with offline capture and local-first storage.
  2. L2 Ledger core Double-sided entries, derived balances, multi-currency positions.
  3. L3 Sharing layer Scoped read access so a held-money owner sees their own statement and nothing else.
  4. L4 Sync Conflict-aware reconciliation when connectivity returns.

07 / Integrations

Built to connect, not to be a silo.

Third parties are first-class parts of the architecture, isolated behind stable internal contracts so any one of them can be replaced without touching the core.

Push notifications

Balance and movement alerts to the phone of whoever the money belongs to.

Export

Statements as shareable documents for reconciliation outside the app.
